Frankestein: The Graphic Novel

Fabio, from group 193, wants to recommend Frankenstein: The ELT Graphic Novel by Mary Shelley.

Heinle, Cengage Learning, 2010

Genre: Fiction, Human Interest

Level: A1-A2

Synopsis:
The Classic Graphic Novel Collection is a series of graphic novels that retell famous books for English learners.

Frankenstein is set in a time of many new scientific ideas. Victor Frankenstein wants to create life, and he works very hard to do it. But when he finally succeeds, everything goes wrong. His dream becomes a nightmare for him and for the people he cares about.

Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein in 1816 during a rainy night in Switzerland.
The story asks important questions about the dangers of knowledge and the problems that come from too much pride.

This version of the story uses strong gothic images and is adapted so all students can enjoy it.

Fabio's opinion about the book:
Frankenstein is a classic novel, but this comic version is easy to read.
